A Warm Welcome to Aerial Mapping at MAPPS Summer Conference in Big Sky

MAPPS 2026 Summer Conference - Big Sky, Montana - July 18-21, 2026

I recently had the pleasure of attending the MAPPS 2026 Summer Conference in Big Sky, Montana, and learned a great deal about the aerial mapping segment of the industry. From the first introduction, the reception was genuinely warm and friendly — the kind of welcome that makes a newcomer feel immediately at home in a room full of people who clearly love what they do.

A highlight was keynote speaker Dr. Jason Stoker, whose perspective on where the geospatial field is heading was both grounded and energizing. I also came away impressed by one of the technology startups on hand, Pointly.ai, whose AI-driven approach to 3D point cloud classification points to just how quickly this space is evolving.

More than anything, it was inspiring to see the technology and passion this industry brings to understanding our physical environment. Conversations like the ones in Big Sky are a reminder of why Credentia Ventures is so drawn to this field — and we're excited to keep learning alongside the people building its future.
